Audio
Audio formats: PCM, bitstream, Atmos, DTS:X, TrueHD, DD+, DTS-HD MA, HBR
Every sound format that can travel over HDMI — the Vertex² passes them all untouched.
What is it?
PCM/LPCM is uncompressed audio (up to 8 channels, 192 kHz). Bitstream (IEC 61937) wraps compressed formats: Dolby Digital, DD+ (streaming, with Atmos), Dolby TrueHD (discs, lossless, with Atmos), DTS, DTS-HD MA (lossless), DTS:X. HBR (High Bit Rate) is the HDMI audio mode needed for TrueHD/DTS-HD. DSD/DST are SACD formats. Atmos and DTS:X are object-based layers riding on top of TrueHD/DD+ and DTS-HD MA.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
The HDfury Vertex² passes every format, including Atmos over TrueHD and DTS:X, on both video outputs and the dedicated audio output, and it can extract them from a TV's eARC (up to Atmos HBR over TrueHD) or ARC (up to Atmos over DD+). Its EDID audio flags let you tell a source exactly what to send: Stereo, 5.1, Full or 'Audio System' (copy the AVR's list).
How to use it on the Vertex²
Web server → EDID → Automix audio flags, or pick an EDID named 'All Sound' / 'SPDIF' / 'Stereo'. The INFO page and OLED show the current audio format and channel count on each output.
