HDMI 2.0b
The HDMI generation the Vertex² is built on: up to 18 Gbps, 4K60, HDR10/HLG.
What is it?
HDMI 2.0b is the version of the HDMI standard that carries up to 18 gigabits per second — enough for 4K at 60 frames per second with 8-bit 4:4:4 colour or 12-bit 4:2:2 colour — and that added HDR10 and HLG signalling. HDMI 1.4 devices (older TVs, AVRs, Blu-ray players) top out at 10.2 Gbps and 4K30. HDMI 2.1 (40–48 Gbps) is the next generation, needed for 4K120 and 8K60.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
Every input and both video outputs of the HDfury Vertex² run at full HDMI 2.0b speed, so nothing between your 4K source and your display is a bottleneck. It stays compatible with HDMI 1.4 and even DVI gear: the Vertex² converts resolution, colour format and HDCP so old and new equipment work together.
How to use it on the Vertex²
Nothing to set — but for any 18 Gbps link use a certified 'Premium High Speed' (or Ultra High Speed) HDMI cable. If a display or AVR is HDMI 1.4 only, connect it to the TX1 downscale output (or the dedicated audio output) and let the Vertex² scale for it.
