RS232, IP/Telnet and the public API
Serial and network commands to control the Vertex² and to let it control your projector.
What is it?
RS232 is the classic serial control port used by projectors, AVRs and automation systems (Control4, Crestron, Savant). IP/Telnet control sends the same text commands over the network (port 2210). The Vertex² publishes its full command list ('#vertex2 set insel 2 3', 'get status'…) and an API/DLL for developers.
Why it matters with the HDfury Vertex²
Two directions: your automation system controls the HDfury Vertex² (switch inputs, change EDIDs, read the signal status, get an 'interrupt' when the signal changes), and the Vertex² controls your display — its MACROS page sends custom RS232 commands to a JVC, Sony or Epson projector whenever the content type changes.
How to use it on the Vertex²
RS232: 3.5 mm jack (tip = TX, ring = RX, sleeve = GND), 19200 8N1, commands start with '#vertex2' and end with CR/LF. IP: telnet to the unit's IP on port 2210, no prefix. Full list in the manual page 'RS232 and IP/Telnet Command List'; Control4 and Savant drivers on the Downloads page.
